About me

I am Mexican so my mother tongue is Spanish. I am also a qualified language teacher.  I have successfully completed the following:

Post Graduate Diploma in Linguistics and English Language Teaching

RSA Diploma in Teaching English as a Foreign Language

Certificate of Proficiency in the Teaching of English as a Foreign Language

Having trained and obtained my qualification as a primary school teacher in Mexico City I switched to teaching English which I'd been learning from the age of 4. I taught English in Mexico for almost 10 years. I was involved in training English teachers towards the end of this period with one of the most prestigious English language schools in Mexico City at the time.

When my family and I moved to England we started a business in a completely different area and my love of languages got channelled into learning them. I speak French fluently and I'm getting fairly competent in Italian and German. I am also learning Mandarin.  I hold an Open University BSc degree too, but that's another story!

I have taught Spanish privately and at Coffee Time Languages (Now Coffee Time French) for 4 years, bringing in all my previous experience and adding to this all the wonderful extras one can find online in this 21st century.

I teach part time which allows me to follow my many other interests and to keep my love of teaching fresh and innovative.

I visit Mexico or Spain at least once a year and have many Hispanic friends both here in England and abroad.
